W Bro Arthur Lea, aged 96, joined Trinity Lodge in 1966, achieving the remarkable 50-year milestone. Unable to attend recent meetings due to ill health, he remained upbeat, enjoying retirement with his wife Kathleen - also aged 96 - in Manfield, North Yorkshire.
Arthur served in the Royal Engineers during World War II, later pursuing accountancy and becoming a company director. He only gave up salmon fishing on the Tweed at the age of 92.
W Bro Alan Dodd presented Arthur with his 50-year Certificate at his home, accompanied by senior members Alan Thompson, Tom Whitfield, and Derek Smith. Arthur passed away on 2nd February 2018, just 20 days before his 97th birthday.
